More about Leslie Anthony

Leslie Anthony, grew up in a small town in NE Pennsylvania, where the early years consisted of horses, ballet, music and art. She started painting at 10 yrs. old. Her continued interest in experimentation with various mediums and techniques resulted in her enrollment at the University of Maryland as an Art major with a minor in Art History. Ms. Anthony soon was showing her work in several prestigious galleries in DC. "One of my favorites was a 2 man show in the Martin Luther King Memorial Library in 1976, soon after it opened. My work was very abstract at that point. Then I ran out of things to paint." After a long hiatus I resumed painting. It was a fearful time, as I was not sure there was anything inside me that needed to be painted. I was wrong and have been evolving since as a serious artist. Joining AiM Gallery in Middleburg, and Artists on the Green in Great Falls both as an active member and contributor of my art was a good decision. I am surrounded by wonderful creative souls that feed the imagination, make me want to paint better, and widen my horizons. Both Middleburg and Great Falls are areas that are blessed with Barnyard and Wildlife critters along with horses of every kind and sport. The scenery in the Piedmont is an artist's dream. There is always something good to paint. I have exhibited since 2014 AiM Gallery in Middleburg Great Falls Artists Studio Tour - Spring and Fall Artists on The Green, Great Falls Christmas Show Art at the Mill, Millwood Va.
